Nissan Titan Used Trucks For Sale by Sean Traynor
In the eighties and nineties Datsun (now Nissan) was the horrible piece junk you could buy if you wanted a small gutless engine that could barely take you from place a to b. But in 2004 that all changed when Nissan decided it was time to compete against the big boys like General Motors, Ford and Dodge in the full size pickup market. The Nissan Titan was developed as a full size pickup truck that had two cab sizes to choose from in which both offered two rows of seating. My research will be on the Nissan Titan as a used truck to look at.
I looked at some 2009 Nissan Titan pickup trucks and came away liking the body designed. The Titan comes in two body styles, the four door Crew Cab and the extended King Cab. There are different cargo beds available (5.5, 6.5, 7, and 8 feet) depending on the model you choose from. There are also four trims to choose from XE, SE, LE and the PRO-4X. Some of the safety features available on the Titan are front side airbags, curtain side airbags, antiskid brakes, ABS brakes and traction control. Other options that are available are a DVD entertainment system, power adjustable pedals and bucket seats.
I could only find two fuel statistics from 2004 to 2009 for the various transmissions. The two-wheel drive had a fuel rating 16.7-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 11.5-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The four-wheel drive had a fuel rating of 17.6-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 12-litres, per 100km, for highway driving
When Nissan decided to go big in the full sized pickup market back in 2004, it started with a V8 engine and this produced 305 horsepower, with 379 pounds, per feet of torque. In 2007 it still used the V8 engine but increased the horsepower to 317 hp and the torque to 385 pounds, per feet. The towing capacity for any Titan model is 4225 kilograms.
Let's talk about some of the pros and cons of the Titan Nissan as a used truck:
1- A leading online consumer watch dog gives the Titan a bad rating as a used truck to own.
2- Differential problems occur with four-wheel drive models.
3- The exhaust unit is known to rust out prematurely.
4- The interior of the vehicle is known to shake and rattle.
5- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Nissan Titan a five star rating for driver protection when a crash test was done to it.
I hope this helps if you're looking at Nissan used trucks like the Titan.
