Where to get the best exchange rate?
every exchange i look at is higher than the daily exchange rates listed in different countries central banks why is that
every place i tried exchanging money the rate is always lower anywhere between 1 and 80 cents why is that.
with the amount im trying to exchange there will be a big difference in the amount after there rates about $3000
This is a great question. I personally have found that I get the best rates by taking my ATM card with me and withdrawing funds in local currency once I'm in the country I've traveled too.
By no means is it a GREAT exchange rate (probably not even a fair exchange rate if you check the forex), but it's certainly the best I've personally found.
I'd grab a small amount prior to getting on the plane and grab the difference from an ATM once I land. That's the way I've done it for the past few years. AMEX is a as close to a scam as you can get and still remain in business.
